University of Massachusetts, Amherst, B.S., Building and Construction Technology
At UMass Amherst, Andrew spent the majority of his time surrounded by music. He was a member and leader in the UMass Amherst Drumline, as well as a drum corps from Fort Mill, South Carolina, called Carolina Crown. Here he performed competitively against other drum corps from around the country. Andrew enjoys teaching drum lines, with the goal of giving students the same amazing experience he had. Andrew used to work in construction management, specializing in green building techniques. One of his projects has been certified under the Living Building Challenge, the most rigorous green building standard in the world today. Andrew enjoys being outside, biking or hiking. He has traveled to the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Fiji. Now Andrew is back in school at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he is working toward a master’s degree in International Higher Education and Intercultural Relations. He hopes to work closely with students from all over the world to help them learn abroad and experience what the world has to offer. Last summer Andrew led Putney’s Community Service Fiji program.
